Yemi Edun Takes Over From Adam Nuru As Acting CEO. First City Monument Bank Limited (FCMB) has appointed an acting Managing Director after Mr Adam accepted to go on leave.
Yemisi Edun will take over as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the bank.
This happened after the decision made by the CEO, Mr. Adam Nuru, to go on voluntary leave while the board proceeds to investigate the allegation of paternity controversy involving him.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the bank.
Edun is a Bachelor’s degree holder in Chemistry from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and attained her Master’s degree in International Accounting and Finance at the University of Liverpool, UK.
She is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Nigeria(ICAN) and also a CFA Charter holder.
She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers(CIS); an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria(CITN); a Member of Information Systems Audit and Control, U.S.A; and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
She started her career journey with Akintola Williams Deloitte (member firm of Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu) in the year 1987, having the main focus in Corporate Finance operations.
She also partook in the audit of Banks and other Financial Institutions.
She got an appointment at FCMB in 2000 as Divisional Head, Internal Audit and Control after which got promotion to the role of Chief Financial Officer(CFO) of the Bank and now as CEO(acting)
The bank had made a public notice on Tuesday saying Adam Nuru’s proceeding on leave would assurance on the sanctity of the investigation.

As at January 3rd 2021, more than 2300 people had signed an online petition to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), asking for Adam Nuru to be sacked.
