US Rapper Bobby Shmurda Ready To Be Released From Prison In February. Police officials reported that US rapper Bobby Shmurda would leave jail next month after spending more than six years in prison for conspiracy and possession of guns at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, upstate New York.

Shmurda, 26, whose legal name is Ackquille Pollard, pleaded guilty to membership in the East Flatbush GS9 gang.

He was arrested in 2014 outside a recording studio in Midtown New York and police found two guns and crack cocaine in his car.

Shmurda was sentenced to a term of seven years in jail and was set for release tentatively on 11 December 2021.

In September, he was up for parole but was refused as a result of disciplinary conduct while in custody for his activities.

He is now available on Feb. 23 for release and will serve the rest of his sentence on parole through Dec. 11, the New York Police department has announced.
