Tragedy as 3 month baby girl dies after being attacked by a dog
A newborn girl died after being mauled by a dog in her bedroom while she was sleeping.
In the early hours of Monday, June 7, a three-month-old child was wounded by a dog in the village of Clashmore, Waterford, Ireland.
The infant was severely injured by the dog.
The police and paramedics were dispatched to the residence after the emergency services were notified.
The infant was taken to Cork University Hospital by ambulance. Surprisingly, paramedics attempted to resuscitate the infant, but she died shortly after 3 a.m. in the hospital.
The baby’s mother is claimed to be distressed, and family members have come to her help.
“The child was taken to Cork University Hospital, where a postmortem examination is set to take place today.”
Gardai from the Garda Forensic Unit have shut off the property where the event occurred for a forensic assessment.
