His mother, Miguelina Eloi Assis dos Santos, passed away on Saturday, February 20, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, as a result Covid-19 complications. She had been in the hospital since December 2020 after having been infected with Coronavirus.
On Tuesday night, February 23, Ronaldinho made the statement via his social media account, showed his gratitude to his fans and friends for their support following the news of his mother’s death.
”In this tough moment, my family and I thank you all for the love and support we are getting. My mother was an inspiration to those who met her and will continue to exert her light forever in our lives, of power and joy. We will begin our journey with the courage she taught us. Thank you,” he wrote in his post, followed by a photograph of his mother embracing him.
