Mesut Ozil mocks Piers Morgan and the TV host responds. Following his move from Arsenal to Fenerbahce, 32-year-old Turkish-born German midfielder Mesut Ozil has reignited his intense rivalry with show host Piers Morgan.
During the latter days of his eight-year spell in north London, Morgan, who was one of Ozil’s strongest detractors, continuously described him as ‘massively overpaid, massively under-performing &’ having a remarkably overinflated sense of his own meaning.’
Ozil has not forgotten about the Good Morning Britain co-presenter, considering his move to Fenerbahce, and took a dig at him on Twitter. A image of himself with ‘Poop on Piers’ toilet paper was tweeted by the former German international, saying he brought it from London to Istanbul to’ remind him of Morgan.’
“Piers, I took this with me from London to Istanbul to remind me of you! Although you probably knew that already before…”
Morgan wasted no time in responding to Ozil and told the former Real Madrid star he is “full of cr*p.”
The show host tweeted;
“Mesut, you’re full of cr*p, so I’m glad to be of much-needed use.”
Ozil made 184 appearances and had a hand in 87 goals during his tenure at Arsenal. He netted 33 times and took in 54 assists.
Given his clear class, owing to a series of on-and-off field issues, he has found playing time limited over the last few seasons. With his new club aiming to finance the transfer through a crowdfunding drive, his move to Fenerbahce was not without controversy either.
