, Mary Wilson, 76, a founding member of the popular rock group, The Supremes, has passed on.

The enigmatic artist, best known for co-founding the band at the age of only 15 with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard in Detroit, died suddenly on Monday, February 8, at her Las Vegas home. Cause of death yet to be disclosed.

Jay Schwartz, her long-term publicist, announced Fox’s death and made known that Wilson’s funeral service would be conducted privately and in compliance with existing standards for health and safety. ‘She was quite a celebrity in her own right and she continued to work tirelessly through the years to raise the Supremes’ legacy. For me, Mary Wilson was incredibly rare. She was a trailblazer, a diva, and she’ll be missed terribly.’

In 1974, Mary married Pedro Ferrer, the former Supremes boss, and they divorced in 1981. In 1994, the former couple’s 14-year-old son Rafael was killed and Mary was injured when her Jeep overturned.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Turkessa, son, Pedro Antonio Jr, and 6 grandchildren.
