Lil Wayne showed gratitude to Donald Trump for granting him presidential pardon.
In his last hours as President of United States (POTUS), Donald Trump granted rapper Lil Wayne a full presidential pardon.
In November, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida reported that Wayne was facing federal firefighting charges at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in December 2019.
In December, he pleaded guilty and was faced up to 10 years in court.
However, earlier this week, a statement by the White House about Lil Wayne’s pardon was released with the notion of the rapper’s commitment to charity as a reason for the pardon.
Lil Wayne, who took to Twitter today, praised Trump by writing:
I want to thank President Trump for realizing that my family, my art, and my culture have so much more to give me. I just want to thank @bradfordcohen for so tirelessly trying to secure me another position. Oh, love! -Michael Carter Jr. of Dwayne.
