The American boxer will temporarily suspend his retirement status to make a headline to an event called ‘Mega 2021’ in the Japanese capital, as revealed by La Provence, however, an opponent is yet to be disclosed.
This comes a week after Mayweather indicated he’d be fighting in Japan again.
He said, “I’m moving back from Tokyo, Japan, in 2021.” I know that the 2021 Olympics are in Japan, but I, myself, Floyd’ Money ‘Mayweather and my squad are going to do something huge at Tokyo Dome… Japan, I’m on the way.
Mayweather called a press conference for ‘Super 2021’ today, November 16, 2020, to announce that he will be part of the case at the Tokyo Dome on February 28, 2021.
The unbeaten boxing legend at the press conference said, “Japan is one of the world’s most beautiful nations.” Tokyo is a wonderful city as well.
I want Japanese people to be amused. I did not train too much the last time I played in Japan. This time, I’d like to prepare accurately.
I would like to thank all the fans in Japan and the fans in Tokyo. Thanks for the remembrance of me.
I don’t have an idea what sort of adversary I am currently facing. Well, I look forward to be in Tokyo.
It’s a place where amazing games have been arranged, so I just want to go to Japan to keep Japanese fans entertained.
Note that when he first came out of retirement to take on kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition match, the unbeaten champion fought in Japan in 2018.
