The Third Mainland Bridge will be shut down for a second round of fragile new expansion joints for 3 days.
Mr Olukayode Popoola, Federal Controller of Works Lagos, who made the announcement on Wednesday January 27, said this closure would enable concrete set properly in the curing period so as to make the restoration job flawless and last long.
Popoola said restriction of movements that are liable to cause vibrations will surely help to achieve this aim. The bridge is going to be closed from 12:00 midnight on Friday 29th January till midnight of Monday 1st February 2021.
Messers Boroni Prono are getting prepared to cast 3 number extension joints on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31st.
This includes the total closure of the 3rd Mainland Bridge from 12:00 noon on Friday 29th until midnight on Monday 1st February 2021.
