Facebook Declares Profit Surge As Pandemic Boost Usage

Facebook’s profits abruptly increased in the Q4 of last year as people enduring the the compulsory holidays in a pandemic transformed to the top social network for work and pleasure, the company disclosed on Wednesday.

Facebook has reported a profit of $ 11.2bn realized on a revenue of $ 28bn, both have increased by 53% and 33% respectively compared with the same period in the prior year.

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has said that Facebook had a strong end to the year as people and businesses continued using the company services during the trying times.

Facebook disclosed that its core social network had 2.8bn users by the end of December, while 3.3bn people used minimum of one of its “family” of apps, which includes Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.
