F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton finally signs the £40m  Mercedes deal.

Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton has finally signed his new Mercedes contract reportedly worth £40million annually, ending speculation over his future.

On the final day of December 2020, the 7-time world champion’s first contract with the all-conquering Silver Arrows ended. This was when the rumour of the F1 star broke that he was about to jump into another whooping contract.

Mercedes’s team principal, Toto Wolff, indicated at the end of January that they were in talks over renewing his deal, but acknowledged there was a disagreement with the star driver on Zoom over the terms of his latest deal.

Hamilton was said to be holding out for a three-year contract, although the Silver Arrows were hesitant to adhere to those conditions.
