Borussia Dortmund beats Manchester United and Barcelona to sign Soumaila Coulibaly.
The fight to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Soumaila Coulibaly has been won by Borussia Dortmund.
The 17-year-old France youth international, who is represented by Epic Sports in Portugal, has agreed to a pre-contract agreement to join the German club on a free transfer when his contract with PSG ends in the summer.
Manchester United, Barcelona, and Juventus were all interested in signing Coulibaly, but Dortmund made a clever transfer market decision to secure one of Europe’s top young talents for next season.
“It was great to see so much interest from so many players,” Coulibaly said, “but I can’t wait to get started with Dortmund.”
“They are a fantastic club with a track record of producing some of the greatest young players in the world, and I want to give it my all for the club and its supporters.”
“I owe a debt of gratitude to my agents [Epic Sports] for assisting me in making this move to Dortmund, as well as to Paris Saint-Germain, where I have already gained too much experience.”
