Destiny’s Child reunion is not happening
Mathew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, has stated that the famed trio has no intentions to reform, record records, perform, or do anything.
According to TMZ, Knowles, who is still the group’s official manager, said the recent upgrade of Destiny’s Child’s official social media account, which fuelled reunion rumors, was nothing more than a standard renewal by the record company.
All of this comes after Beyonce gave an update on her music in an interview, saying:
“I haven’t been in the studio in over a year and a half. It can take up to a year for me to sift through thousands of sounds to locate the perfect kick or snare. A single chorus might have up to 200 layers of harmonies. Nothing, however, compares to the level of love, passion, and healing I feel in the studio. After 31 years, it still delights me as much as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is about to begin!”
Beyoncé Knowles, Michelle Williams, and Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child shared audio from a quick catch-up conversation they had in May. Though there was no mention of a reunion at the time, they did discuss what each member had been up to.
After five studio albums, Destiny’s Child split in 2006.
