Dele Momodu declares interest to run for president in 2023
If elected in 2023, Momodu, who declared his candidacy today at the PDP headquarters in Abuja, promises to fix Nigeria.
He declared that he is now better prepared to run as a presidential candidate for the National Conscience Party (NCP), adding that he “won’t be terrified by anyone who believes he or she can purchase Nigeria with heaps of cash falsely.”
Momodu, speaking to reporters, said:
“After careful consideration of my family, friends, and other stakeholders, I have decided to run for president in 2023 on the platform of our great party, the PDP, if selected as the party’s candidate.”
I must emphasize that this is a personal decision, despite the fact that I have gotten counsel, encouragement, and support from a variety of sources since beginning my consultations.
As a result, I present myself to the PDP as the best candidate to turn our valued party’s fortunes, as well as the fortunes of our well-endowed country, around. In this way, and with a tremendous sense of humility and respect.
I strongly urge the party not to choose its candidate based on the same criteria that have consistently failed our country in the past. The teeming young, and indeed every patriotic Nigerian, who we need to turn out in droves to vote for our party, share this viewpoint.
For this reason, I implore our great party, the PDP, to acknowledge that it must seek out a true flag bearer who possesses the leadership and visionary traits that Nigerians so desperately desire.
“I believe the moment has come to seriously challenge and displace those politicians who have kept our country hostage by kidnapping, hijacking, and destroying the futures of our younger generation and future generations.”
“I’m better equipped now than I was when I first entered the battlefield in 2011, and I’m totally prepared and capable of handling the difficult tasks and responsibilities ahead.”
“I desire to state unequivocally that I will not be harassed, bullied, or intimidated by anyone who believes he or she can purchase Nigeria with millions of dollars wrongfully and unjustly stolen from the Nigerian people.”
Nigeria, according to Momodu, “needs an immediate reset and total redirection.”
