Danny Ings turns down four-year Southampton contract amid Manchester City and Manchester United links
Southampton offered Danny Ings a four-year contract, but he declined.
Despite having one year left on his current contract, the England striker, 28, turned down the offer from his club, according to Sky Sports.
Last season, he scored 14 goals for Southampton, and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has stated that he expects him to stay at the club.
In April, he told Sky Sports, “I think Danny, in particular, will continue with us.” “With all of his injuries, he understands he’s in a great position to perform and return, and I believe that’s crucial for a player.”
“Going into the final year of a contract with the possibility of another injury is a danger, and things may be over. It’s a question that every player must answer for themselves, and we hope he’ll stick around for a little longer.”
Since joining Southampton permanently in 2019 for a £20 million price from Liverpool, Ings has scored 34 goals in 67 Premier League games.
