Caitlyn Jenner running for Governor of California. Caitlyn Jenner is a California governor candidate.
The 71-year-old has filed campaign paperwork and officially declared her candidacy on social media, unveiling her latest slogan, Caitlyn For California.
Jenner is a Republican Party member. In criticism of Trump’s stance on transgender rights, she voted for him in 2016 but not in 2020. She didn’t say whether she’ll run as a Republican or an Independent in an Instagram announcement.
‘She’s running as someone who’s socially liberal and fiscally conservative,’ a member of her campaign, which includes several influential former Trump White House figures, told Axios.
Tony Fabrizio, a pollster who worked on both Trump campaigns, has been recruited, and Brad Parscale has also aided her in an unofficial capacity.
‘I’m in!’ Jenner said in an Instagram statement. For nearly 50 years, California has been my birthplace. I came here because I believed that everyone, regardless of their ethnicity or social status, could make their dreams come true.
‘However, over the past decade, we have seen the Golden State’s glimmer dimmed by one-party rule, which prioritizes politics over development and special interests over citizens.’ Sacramento needs an open and forthright leader with a strong vision.
‘Throughout my life, I’ve been a compassionate disruptor, from representing the United States and winning a gold medal at the Olympics to helping promote the equality movement.’
