Britney Spears goes off Instagram as she takes social media break
“Don’t worry folks,” she replied on Twitter after her disappearance caused concern among her admirers. I’m taking a break from social media to commemorate my engagement!!!! “I’ll be back shortly.”
Spears and her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, confirmed their engagement over the weekend.
In a statement to Fox News, Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart said that “it was her decision” to leave the social networking platform.
Meanwhile, a source told Page Six that “she’s in a wonderful place” and that “she’s happy.” “And quiet can be a powerful thing and a powerful message,” the insider added.
The 39-year-old pop artist published an essay titled “Infusing Education With Heart” in her most recent Instagram post, encouraging people who have been “confused or exploited by a system,” saying “you’re not alone” and “you’re not crazy.”
The singer wrote, “People need to hear this before it’s TOO LATE!!!!” “I’ve been waiting for my liberation for 13 years and counting!!!!!”
“You guys fucking kick ass,” she said, thanking the #FreeBritney movement.
Spears’ account was not deleted, according to a spokeswoman for Instagram’s parent firm, Facebook.
“A post or account may no longer be accessible from its prior URL for a variety of reasons, including, for example, if the person deactivated their account,” they said.
Her Instagram disappearance comes only days after her father, Jamie Spears, filed an unexpected plea to end the legal arrangement that has put him and others in charge of his daughter’s life and finances since 2008.
