Bill Gates Fault himself as he opens up about divorce
As he spoke up about his tumultuous divorce, Bill Gates chastised himself for “messing up.”
Last week, the billionaire spoke at the elite Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, dubbed “summer camp for billionaires.”
The Microsoft founder was “emotional” and on the edge of tears when he spoke about his divorce, according to one camp attendee.
CNBC host Becky Quick asked Gates about his divorce from Melinda, his 27-year-old wife, and the future of the Gates Foundation during a “off the record” Q&A session following his address on climate change.
“He admitted to messing up,” one of the attendees remarked. “Basically, he was implying that it [the divorce] was his fault.”
“He seemed a little emotional about it,” said another guest. “I think he was on the edge of crying.”
Bill Gates did not use the word “affair” when lamenting the breakdown of his marriage, according to the attendee.
Bill Gates’ confession was hailed as “extremely emotional” by another participant.
Some of the most powerful personalities in sports, technology, and media attended the “billionaire summer camp.”
